Searching For Savvy

If in doubt…

This blog started as a class assignment. Previously, it was devoted to developing my technical writing and comprehensive and analytical thinking skills as they became pertinent to communicating with and understanding the world around me.

It has since become a resource. For what?

Finding a job, industry discourse, venting frustrations in cultural and professional behavior, transparency in business and consumer relations. All of these things that, I believe, are relevant to me now and hopefully are relevant to you.

I recently graduated from the University of Oregon and was very surprised and excited for the opportunity to leave Oregon and Eugene, which can very often be a bubble wherein lives a combination of hippies and professionals who like to put hippie mantras on the bumpers of their SUVs.

I moved to San Francisco to pursue a career in PR and found that I did not leave that bubble, as I’d intended, but rather relocated to a new and much larger bubble of a similar flavor.

All in all, I’m learning to love this city with the same love I had for Eugene – full of patience – and am learning the trade of PR. All this while in the middle of that great self-crisis and adventure one goes through when they stop being a student and start being an adult – that time that seems so unique to each individual but has been traversed, often successfully, by every working professional for generations.

This blog is a compilation of my thoughts on such.

The hope is that this blog will help me find my footing in the blogosphere as it’s an increasingly-essential facet of writing world. That’s the goal. I will write about things that interest me in a researched and informed method without being too preachy or dull, I hope.
